Beacon Medical Center

In addition to coordinating medical emergency relief efforts during the flooding, we operate a year-round medical center in Soroti Town serving the Beacon of Hope School and surrounding community of more than 600 families with much needed medical care. Currently there is very little regular medical service for the rural poor in the Teso region, and no emergency medical services of any kind. Pilgrim's mobile medical van, secured with financial support from WHO's Uganda office, serves the IDP camps and remote areas from which people would otherwise have to travel many miles on foot for medical aid. We plan to gradually expand our mobile medical relief efforts at the same time as we pursue malaria eradication. To learn more about and donate to our malaria eradication program, click here.
