Emergency Food Relief

There are still about a million people in the in the north and north-eastern part of Uganda who urgently need food relief. Pilgrim hopes to continue providing a scaled down emergency aid to select vulnerable groups in the camps. These include: single headed households, child headed households, and elders without support, along with those whose crops, homes and livelihoods were destroyed by the severe and unrelenting floods that hit the region in 2007. The floods, which destroyed both crops in the field and stored foodstuffs, left many households without hope of food.

During this flood crisis, Pilgrim was one of the first aid organizations to bring food, medicine, shelter and hope to the families suffering from the effects of the floods, and is continuing to bring relief, focusing particularly on these vulnerable groups in hard-to-reach areas.

You can help provide relief to the 5,000 persons at an average of only $25 per household per month. To donate to Pilgrim's flood relief efforts and other programs, click here.
